Hannah Georgas returns to Phog for the first time since Said The Whale’s national CD Release party for Islands Disappear.
That was a while ago, and since then, Hannah and her band have EXPLODED onto the indie scene. She was a relatively unknown performer when she hit Phog the first time.

In all honesty, I hadn’t done my homework when she first played. Said The Whale told me that she was coming with them, and I didn’t ask any questions. Said The Whale knows their stuff. I just didn’t know that she was going to erupt and put on the show she displayed that night. It was top-notch…first class. She’s incredible live. If you don’t have plans for Halloween, and you like this kind of music…and you don’t come to this…honestly…give your head a shake.

Within weeks of them playing Phog, I recall looking at the TV on Canada Day morning and seeing Said The Whale, not only playing with Hannah Georgas in front of the Prime Minister and Governor General…but Ben from Said The Whale was wearing a PHOG LOUNGE T-SHIRT! It was epic…and Hannah was a part of it…and I’ll never forget it.

Here’s some video of hers to get you reacquainted.

And she’s not coming alone!
Allie Hughes and her band (that loves to dress up when it’s NOT Halloween) are coming too! And they’re PHENOMENAL TOO!
It’s like lightning striking the same place twice…and on Halloween!! It’s unbelievably awesome for this music-loving community.
What could convince you to come? Her videos are reason enough…
According to Musebox, “She’s opened for Mother Mother, Chromeo, and the Do. She also opened for Born Ruffians on their hometown CD release party earlier this summer at The Horseshoe.”
Watch her videos…and imagine them getting into the spirit of Halloween on a big gig like this one.

If that were all, we’d be counting ourselves lucky…but there’s more.
Jody Glenham…maybe the most connected musician I know of…is also bringing her Vancouver talent to play. She’s fantastic! This is almost too good to be true.
Of course, there are more vids below of Jody’s…enjoy.
See you on Halloween, costume or not.
